Grading

Grade is generally used to indicate coffee bean size, which is associated with coffee quality. While there are many exceptions, coffee beans grown at higher elevations tend to be denser, larger, and have better flavor.

Storage

Green coffee requires well managed environmental and climate controls. Africoff Trading Co. understands that coffee’s absorptive and hygroscopic characteristics necessitate atmospheric control.

 

Marketing

Kenya’s coffee auction system dates back to 1934. The auctions still take place at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange and are widely considered to be most transparent distribution system for fine green coffees anywhere in the coffee world and inspired the model for the Cup of Excellence auctions.

 

Exporters

Our coffees are stored in parchment at our mills until they are ready to be shipped and sold and roasted. This is to ensure its best flavors and aromas are kept unchanged for longer. In efforts for the coffee to maintain its freshness, all our coffees are packed in Grain Pro bags.
